Will cold air make my hair dry at the same rate as hot air?

Right after school everyday I do my homework then it's off to tennis practice. Then I come home and take a shower then I have to dry my hair b/c I get kinda a sore throat if I go to bed with wet hair. I kinda start to get hot and sweat if I use the regular heat setting on my blow dryer. SO I always hold in the cool air botton. Is drying my hair with cooler air going to make it take longer to get it dry? Are there are good things about drying your hair with cool air, like will there be less damage? Answer please! There are only two factors. The first is how much moisture the air can absorb from your hair. Hot, dry air will hold more. The second is how much air is moving past your hair.

Normally, the fan settings on the hair dryer are the same for both hot or cold air. What you can do is to fluff your hair to make more of it contact the air stream, that will decrease the drying time for both hot and cold.

You could also use two hair dryers set on cold to increase the amount of air flowing past your hair.

Probably best is to start at hot and switch to cold as your hair begins to dry out while fluffing it with a very loose toothed comb or brush.

Hair dryers sold to the public don't get hot enough to really damage hair unless you keep drying past the point of 'dryness' and move into burning your scalp territory.

Less damage, yes. Longer to dry, though. (Water molecules have less energy when cooler, so move less quickly, so can't evaporate as easily.)
