How can i get hair like Aaliyah??

My hair is kind of dry.I use a dandruff shampoo by Avlon and i use Dark%26amp;Lovely Cholesterol conditionner.I leave it of 20 minutes with a plastic cap and sit under a hooded dryer for 20minutes.I do rollers set but my hair is short(to my ears)(i get trim every month and i have a relaxer)I want to have long beautifull hair like Aaliyah.How many years is it gonna take?? Is there a lot of black woman with with hair passed their shoulders??? What the trick besides patience?

There are alot of black women with relaxed hair who don't know the truth about how to take care of their hair. There is so much the companies dont tell us. First of all many of the products geared toward black women have mineral oil/paraffin or petroleum/petrolatum as a main ingredient. Luster's pink oil, Hair Food, and pantene pro-v relaxed and natural to name a few. These are actually bad for your hairwith repeated use and just give your hair an artificial shine. Your best bet is to use all natural products like those sold in aveda. it is more expensive, nut in the long run your hair will be healthier. Don't think you have to use products that are only for black hair. THIS IS A LIE GIVEN TO US BY WHITE OWNED COMPANIES TO ONLY BUY THEIR PRODUCTS. truthfully, i think the best bet for all black women is to go natural and stop putting chemicals in their hair. have you ever noticed how many black women DON'T have long hair? it just stays the same length forever and/or gets thinner and thinner. i've been there before with the breakage and question marks and jealous moments of long-haired girls and i decided i would leave my hair the way God intended it to be, with a few adjustments. whether or not you go natural, the best thing is to read the labels of the products u use, try to use all natural products and stay away from heat. I also find that Carrot Oil is a really good protectant and moisturizer.

Patience and good hair care maintenance. Washing, conditioning, and keeping the hair moisturized with natural oils is all beneficial for maintaining healthy hair. Also, not using a lot of heat-styling products, permanent hair colors or pulling your hair back in tight ponytails and braids is also helpful. Relaxing is also not good for you but if you must take care of your hair.

well 2 me it seems like you're not giving your hair a chance to grow, if you were 2 get it trimmed every2-3 mos. then maybe you can see a difference in the length of your hair. me, my hair is down my back, and i don't never hardly get mine trimmed, but try that %26amp; see how it grows.

why don't you just get extensions?

I'm not being a smart aleck. a sew-in is cheaper than the glue and stuff and because your hair is braided under the tracks it will give your hair a chance to grow without the damage of daily styling. continue to get your deep conditions and trims as needed. but a sew in weave will give you the style that you want and the growth that you wish to attain.

There are plenty of black women with long hair. That dosen't mean however that your hair can grow that long. You are doing all the right things, so basiclly your hair is growing at its natural pace.

I know many will disagree, but there is no magical cream, etc. that will make your hair grow in my opinion.

To achieve Aaliyah like style, I suggest going with weave. You can do bonding, or a sew-in to achieve this.
