Hair that is too straight.....?

I have hair that is really, really straight. It wont hold a curl no matter if i use a curling iron, brush and blow dryer even if i put mousse, hairspray or gel. I dont want to get a perm or a body wave. Does any one have any tip on how to make my hair hold a curl...oh yeah, my hair is about down to the middle of my back....please help!!!

Hair that is too straight.....?

Ok. Here is something totally relevant to me. My hair is straight as well, you can see in the picture. It is soooo straight that I can't do a thing with it. Hairspray, gel, curling irons or mousse won't help. Even going for to the stylist ... it is just too strong. And yes, exactly do not perm or get your hair waived. It will TOTALLY damage it.

1. Don't take for granted what you have. Girls would kill for naturally straight hair like ours. You don't have to use a straightner every day or deal with frizzes and stuff like that. We can just shower brush and go. That's key.

2. You can crimp your hair. That will definately stay in your hair. Just remember when using a crimping iron hold it for at least 35 seconds and don't crimp too much hair all at once.

3. When in attempt to style, use spray or gel or what ever FIRST. It will help, although if you hair is like mine, it will probably go flat within 1 to 2 hours.

4. If you hair does not stay it means your healthy is still healthy. My stylist calls it 'alive'. Everyone else's hair is 'dead'. Embrace it!

5. If all else fails look for updos %26amp; different ways to part it.

Have you tried to put gel in it and crinkle it up. I wish I had really straight hair though.

the only sugestion I have is to cut it. The weight of it is probably pulling out any curls. I used to have that problem until I cut it.

Sometimes cutting it shorter and/or layering helps hair hold curls better and longer. You could try rollers and combing them out with a wide-toothed comb.

My hair is pretty straight too and I've never had a problem curling my hair. I would suggest that you talk to your hairdresser about this.

Try cutting your hair shorter, in layers- this will help reduce weight. Weight in hair will pull out a curl, like when you tie a weight to end of a curly ribbon, for example.

After the weight is gone, try using the curling iron, or even a normal straightener to curl it (use straightener like a curling iron- it makes bigger, wavy-ish curls.) If it works, try spraying hairspray on it to get it to stick. Do this right after you wash your hair...

Good luck! ^_^

My hair is exactly the same! is your hair fine too? I got a professional curling iron that gets hotter then ones you can buy at target. It has REALLY helped my hair to curl! Use it and just lightly spray hairspray on it while the curling iron is in your hair! Also i notice if i use a lot of conditioner that day it's harder, just use it on the ends on day you wanna go curly!

Good luck!

what i think? If you have super straight hair. long to the middle of your back you should cut it...like and inch or two at least. Have it layered when you cut it.

if your going ot use a curling iron yoruself... then example if your supposed to curl for 5 secs curl for a few extra seconds.. don't touch it because it's hot.. and it'll go out of shape. after it's completely cool comb it.

or do the thing with the wave.. or whatever you want.

Go look for a shampoo that goes body or waves or somehting..liek that.. read the labels..take your time...

I mean there's the one for making your hair straight... I watched hte commercial.. i htknk there's also oen for not wanting your hair straight ^^

one last thing... if you have it shoulder length, the part at the shoulder will curl as it grows.. it'll curl a bit.... because your shoulder is blocking where it was going ot grow so, instead of moving your shoudler out of the way, the hair moved out of the way...

do you blow-dry you hair after you wash your hair? Might want to try towel drying your hair as much as possible then tie it into a bun or like my yahoo avi's hairstyle.. let it dry.. because your hair is wet..and then it dries.. yoru hair will go with it a bit..
