Does lemon juice make hair lighter?

Do you have to sit in the sun, or can you use a blow-dryer? Which one is more effective?

And is it true that if you have darkish-brown hair that your hair will then turn orange?

Does lemon juice make hair lighter?

Yes the citric acid in the lemon juice will lighten your hair in the sun but if you have darker hair I don't recomend it. I have dark brown hair and it turned my hair orange. It a lot easier to go to WalMart and but a box of highlights and use that because you will kow the color that thhey will turn out.

YES I put lemon in my hair a few times a day and it looks like I dyed it. No it won't turn your hair orange that's silly.Put it in a spray bottle and spray it on.

It may turn it a little orange tint if you have really dark hair. And i used to use lemon juice and sit in the sun to lighten my hair. It worked for my hair but i don't have dark hair either more of a dirty blonde.

  1. Lemon Juice DOES NOT lighten hair - the Ultra-Violet rays from the Sun and free Oxygen in the air do the lightening -The Juice acts as a CATALYST to increase the lightening potential by giving the hairs melanin (the color) a positive charge so the oxygen has more attraction to it.
